Mukbang creator Tzuyang has issued a warning about scam accounts impersonating her.
On February 3rd KST, through her YouTube channel, Tzuyang announced, “Notice regarding TikTok impersonation accounts and donation request scams. Hello, this is Tzuyang. Recently, on short-form platforms such as TikTok, fraudulent activities have been identified in which someone impersonates Tzuyang, uploads videos without permission, and asks for donations to a ‘personal bank account.’ We sincerely thank fans who provided valuable reports and would like to inform you about the current situation and our response.”
She continued, “Please do not send any money! The problematic accounts are posting bank accounts under third-party names completely unrelated to Tzuyang, including accounts at Suhyup Bank, in an attempt to defraud an unspecified number of people. This is a clear financial crime.”
She added, “We are proceeding with strong legal action. Regarding the impersonation accounts, we have requested TikTok to urgently suspend the content on the grounds of copyright law violations and fraud under criminal law, and under a zero-tolerance policy, we plan to initiate all possible legal measures, including criminal complaints and civil lawsuits.”
She particularly emphasized, “Official channel notice: Tzuyang never requests donations or money through personal bank accounts under any circumstances.”
Lastly, she urged, “Please exercise extra caution to prevent damage caused by impersonation accounts, and if you discover any suspicious cases, please report them immediately via the email address below.”
