MONSTA X’s youngest member I.M shaved his head on stage at a concert ahead of his military service, bringing their fanbase Monbebe to tears.
From January 30 to February 1, MONSTA X kicked off the 2026 MONSTA X world tour 'THE X : NEXUS' at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul. Over the three days, the group met a total of 20,000 Monbebe during the domestic shows alone.
'THE X : NEXUS' marks their first solo world tour in about four years since the 'MONSTA X : NO LIMIT' tour in Seoul, held in 2022. I.M, who had previously paused activities due to back pain, also took part in these latest Seoul concerts. He joined the members on stage with his enlistment scheduled for February 9, spending special time with fans before a temporary separation.
On the final day of the Seoul concert, I.M shaved his head in front of Monbebes, turning the venue into a sea of tears. Holding back tears, I.M said, “This is my last performance before going to the military, and although my back still hurts, I just couldn’t not do it. The power of love is truly amazing. I paused activities twice in 2025, but I didn’t actually rest. I was constantly doing something, and the reason was Monbebe. I’ll be taking a short break from MONSTA X’s 10 years.”
The members took turns shaving I.M’s head themselves, and fans called out his name while crying.
I.M will enter the training center on February 9 to receive basic military training before fulfilling his duty as an active duty soldier. Currently, all MONSTA X members except I.M have completed their military service.
