Actress Kim So Hyun is set to reunite with actor Song Kang for the first time in five years in the upcoming drama "White Scandal".
According to industry sources on February 24, Kim So Hyun and Song Kang will lead the new series, based on a popular web novel currently in production. "White Scandal" tells the story of Ji Eun Seol, a once-promising child actress who falls from grace after taking the blame for her older brother’s crime. Unable to give up on her dream of acting, she works as a road manager before becoming entangled in a contract relationship with Dan Yi Hyuk, the man at the center of her past controversy. As their staged romance unfolds, long-buried secrets begin to surface.
Kim So Hyun will portray Ji Eun Seol, a former child star now working behind the scenes as a manager. Her character, who once saw her career collapse due to an incident involving Dan Yi Hyuk, becomes involved in a contract dating arrangement with him, leading to unexpected emotional developments.
Kim So Hyun, who began her career as a child actress, is expected to showcase a new layer of emotional depth through this role. She previously impressed viewers with performances in series such as "Love Alarm", "River Where the Moon Rises", "My Lovely Liar", "Serendipity’s Embrace", and "Good Boy", demonstrating versatility across romance and action genres.
The drama also marks a highly anticipated reunion between Kim So Hyun and Song Kang, who previously starred together in "Love Alarm", where they played Kim Jo Jo and Hwang Sun Oh. Their chemistry at the time left a strong impression on viewers, making this reunion especially exciting for fans.
"White Scandal" will be penned by writer Kim Ga Eun, known for "Call It Love", and directed by Kim Cheol Kyu, who helmed acclaimed dramas such as "Mother" and "Flower of Evil". The series is currently in the casting stage and is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of the year after Song Kang completes shooting for his project "Four Hands".
