Actress Jun Ji Hyun has reportedly acquired two buildings and an adjacent plot along Atelier-gil in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, for a total of 46.8 billion KRW (approx. 32.5 million USD).
According to an exclusive report by News1 on February 27, Jun Ji Hyun purchased a basement-to-fifth-floor building (total floor area approximately 1,042㎡) in Seongsu-dong 1-ga last September for 18.6 billion KRW (approx 12.9 million USD), and a first-to-third-floor building (approximately 1,129㎡) for 26 billion KRW (approx. 18 million USD). She also bought a 50㎡ plot between the two buildings for 2.2 billion KRW, bringing the total transaction to 46.8 billion KRW.
Jun Ji Hyun completed the payment on February 23 and finalized the property registration. A mortgage with a maximum principal of 33.6 billion KRW (approx. 23.3 million USD) was set on the property. Considering that the maximum principal is typically around 120% of the loan amount, the actual borrowed sum is estimated to be about 28 billion KRW.
The buildings are located in the upper section of Seongsu Atelier-gil. With rents rising significantly along nearby Yeonmujang-gil, this area is considered to have potential for further growth.
Jun Ji Hyun already owns multiple properties in Seoul. In 2023, she purchased a duplex penthouse at Acro Seoul Forest in Seongdong-gu for 13 billion KRW in cash. In 2022, she acquired a commercial property in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, for 50.5 billion KRW (approx. 35 million USD), and she also holds commercial properties in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, and Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu.
She has previously earned substantial profits from real estate sales. In 2021, she sold a building in Nonhyeon-dong for a 14 billion KRW gain, and in 2014, she sold her Samseong-dong residence, originally bought for 7.5 billion KRW, for 13 billion KRW.
With this latest acquisition, Jun Ji Hyun now owns a total of five commercial properties, with industry estimates placing the combined value at roughly 150 billion KRW (Approx. 104 million USD).
