IVE’s Jang Wonyoung showcased her cooking skills in front of renowned chef Anh Sung Jae, delivering a tense yet heartwarming tasting session.
On February 25, the YouTube channel Chef Anh Sung Jae released a new video featuring Jang Wonyoung, who is currently promoting IVE’s second full album, 'REVIVE+.'
In the episode, Wonyoung presented her dish, grilled feta cheese pasta. She explained, “I chose this because it’s simple but unique and has a special vibe. I think I’ve made it about five times already.” Showing a hint of nervousness, she added, “Apart from my mom, no one in the world has tried my cooking,” before completing the dish with visually appealing results.
The tasting session that followed was full of candid reactions. Wonyoung said, “I think the pasta turned out exactly how I like it,” while Anh Sung Jae noted, “This is the first time I’ve tried grilled feta cheese pasta. I think there’s a lot of tomato in it.”
Wonyoung quickly admitted, “You’re right. I originally intended it to be a richer, creamier pasta, but today there seems to be more tomato than usual.” Anh Sung Jae responded with praise, saying, “But that has its own charm. The flavors of the tomato and cheese really shine.” Wonyoung’s face lit up at the positive feedback. He continued tasting with a thoughtful, 'Culinary Class Wars' demeanor, while Wonyoung was playfully nicknamed ‘Cooking Princess.’ Noticing his hesitation, she cleverly added, “I wanted to keep it light today,” emphasizing the appeal of her dish.
Anh Sung Jae ultimately declared, “Hearing that, I will give this pasta the survival vote,” to which Wonyoung reacted with a joyful jump from her seat, saying, “This is truly the happiest moment of this month!” eliciting laughter from everyone present.
The episode also highlighted Wonyoung’s thoughtful side. She prepared a special gift for Anh Sung Jae’s daughter, Si Yeong, who is affectionately known among IVE fans as Dive. Wonyoung personally selected perfume and a variety of chewy cookies from Dubai, adding a heartwarming touch to the interaction.
