Actress Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo have wrapped up filming for Netflix’s upcoming series 'Slowly, Intensely', sharing heartfelt messages as they bid farewell after a year-long journey.
On January 13, Song Hye Kyo posted a photo on her social media with the short caption, “Minja… goodbye.” The image showed the name “Minja” written on snow piled on the ground, subtly conveying her affection for the character and the emotions of parting as filming came to an end.
Earlier, on January 10, Song had also shared a photo of the drama’s script with the caption “last day at work.” The complete script consisted of four volumes spanning episodes 1 through 22, with worn edges and folded pages hinting at the intense and demanding production process.
Her co-star Gong Yoo likewise expressed deep attachment to the project. Posting several photos taken with staff on set, he wrote, “I can’t believe a year has passed,” followed by, “I was happy to be loved. Thank you so much, everyone,” and “I’m not ready to let go yet.” Addressing his character affectionately, he added, “My dear Donggu, please calm your temper, don’t get into unnecessary trouble and get scolded by Minja, and live well—healthy and cool.” He concluded with, “Thank you for coming to me. I was truly happy,” revealing his strong bond with both the role and the team.
Slowly, Intensely is a Netflix original series written by Noh Hee Kyung, set against the backdrop of Korea’s entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s. The series follows the fierce growth stories of individuals who start with nothing and struggle relentlessly toward success.
Song Hye Kyo plays Minja, a woman who has endured countless hardships since childhood and developed a resilient inner strength. Determined and bold, Minja throws herself headfirst into the Korean music industry in pursuit of opportunity.
Gong Yoo portrays Donggu, Minja’s longtime friend who eventually enters the music industry alongside her. Known for his unwavering loyalty and gentle devotion, Donggu listens to Minja without hesitation, and the deep friendship and emotional bond between the two characters is expected to be a key highlight of the series.
The project has drawn particular attention for Song Hye Kyo’s dramatic transformation, as she cut her hair short for the role. In a previous interview, she shared, “The writer said the Minja she envisioned would have short hair and suggested a short cut. She worried about asking an actress to cut her hair that short, but for me, if it suited Minja, there was nothing to be afraid of.”
With filming now complete, anticipation is growing for Slowly, Intensely, as viewers await the powerful story and the long-anticipated on-screen chemistry between Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo.
