SEVENTEEN’s latest unit DxS (DK x Seungkwan) has successfully entered iTunes charts worldwide.
Shortly after the release of their duo project ‘Serenade,’ the album climbed to the top of iTunes charts around the world. ‘Serenade’ debuted at No. 2 and No. 14 on the worldwide and European albums iTunes charts, respectively. It also reached No. 1 on top iTunes album charts in at least seven regions, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Taiwan. In addition, the title track “Blue” topped the iTunes chart in Argentina, Costa Rica, Indonesia, and more.
‘Serenade’ is DxS’s first mini-album, and it traces the emotional arc of a relationship, from meeting to parting, through DK and Seungkwan’s emotional storytelling.
The lead single “Blue” expresses “love moving at different paces,” intertwining DxS’ expressive vocals with a simply resonant piano sound and grand orchestration.
A seven-minute cinematic music video was unveiled alongside the release, starring globally recognized actors Lee Yoo Mi and Steve Sanghyun Noh. The story centers on the diverging emotional paths of two lovers: a man, burdened by wounds too deep to overcome, and a woman who loves him yet gradually grows weary, leaving viewers with a lasting sense of heartache.
The album features a total of six songs: “Rockstar (DK Solo),” “Blue,” “Guilty Pleasure,” “Silence,” “Dream Serenade (Seungkwan Solo),” and “Prelude of Love.” Notably, the duo both participated in writing and composing each of their solo tracks, while both appear as lyricists on the final track.
