Production has kicked off for a blockbuster historical action film starring Park Bo Gum, Joo Won, Jung Jae Young, Lee Sun Bin, and BIBI.
Known as 'The Sword: Legend of the Red Wolf', the film tells the story of a slave with no memory of his past. He then enters a swordsmanship contest whose grand prize is a legendary sword.
Tackling potentially his most drastic transformation since debut, Park Bo Gum will take on the role of Chil Sung, a warrior with no memory of his past. He will take center stage in a heroic tale of a slave who fights to break free of his wretched status and rises up as a hero of the people.
Joo Won will join the cast of 'The Sword' as Chil Sung's rival, Gye Pil Ha Ryeok, a double-sword wielder and a formidable opponent in the deadly contest. Veteran actor Jung Jae Young takes on the role of Chil Sung's mentor Heuk Soo Kang, Lee Sun Bin plays the role of a mysterious female warrior named Maya, and BIBI joins the cast as Heuk Soo Kang's daughter, In Jeong.
Directed by Kim Han Min of 'Warrior of the Arrows' (2011), 'The Sword: Legend of the Red Wolf' aims to showcase the strength of the Korean sword against the backdrop of Goguryeo. The film is scheduled for release in summer of 2027.
