NCT members Jeno and Jaemin have joined forces in a new sports-themed drama.
KITZ premium short-form series 'Wind Up' falls under the sports coming-of-age genre. The drama centers on a high school baseball pitcher who can no longer throw a strike and a transfer student who steps in as his self-appointed manager, portraying their sparkling friendship and shared growth.
Jeno stars as Woo Jin, a pitcher once hailed as a top prospect. After winning a middle school MVP award, he drew widespread attention and high expectations. However, his career takes a sudden downturn when he develops the yips, leaving him unable to throw strikes.
Just as the baseball team is on the verge of giving up on Woo Jin, transfer student Tae Hee, played by Jaemin, enters the picture. A former batter, Tae Hee, volunteers to become Woo Jin’s manager, following him relentlessly day and night.
Their relationship begins with constant bickering, but as they chase their dreams together, their bond gradually deepens into genuine friendship. The drama captures this journey with a warm and heartfelt tone.
Through 'Wind Up,' Jeno and Jaemin are set to showcase their appeal as actors. A production representative commented, “Given the strong teamwork they’ve built over the years, viewers can look forward to the synergy they’ll show in this project.”
The series is directed by Kim Sung Ho, known for his refined storytelling in works such as 'Into the Mirror,' 'How to Steal a Dog,' and 'Bad Prosecutor.' He once again delivers a tightly woven narrative focused on growth and resilience.
