Koo Kyo Hwan to lead new JTBC drama 'Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness'

JTBC’s upcoming drama 'Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' has confirmed its cast lineup—Koo Kyo Hwan, Go Youn Jung, Oh Jung Se, Kang Mal Geum, and Park Hae Joon—signaling the start of what is expected to be a remarkable phenomenon that transforms “worthlessness” into “value.”

'Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' follows a man who, tormented by envy and jealousy as the only one among his talented friends whose life refuses to take off, spirals toward madness in his search for inner peace. Using the universal modern emotion of anxiety as its central keyword, the drama is expected to offer a symbolic “green light in life” to those halted by the warning signal of worthlessness.

Anticipation is particularly high as the series marks the return of writer Park Hae Young, who sparked widespread acclaim with works such as 'My Mister' and 'My Liberation Notes'. Known for shaping life’s lowest emotions into profoundly noble prose, Park once again invites viewers into a new phenomenon—this time centered on the theme of worthlessness, moving beyond “adoration” and “liberation.” The project is further elevated by director Cha Young Hoon, who has captured extraordinary solidarity among ordinary people through 'When the Camellia Blooms' and 'Welcome to Samdalri'. His gentle mise-en-scène, which embraces characters’ inner voids with warmth, is set to meet Park’s deeply resonant writing to heal a cold reality with emotional tenderness.
