Hwang Ha Na, the maternal granddaughter of Namyang Dairy Products’ founder, is reported to have mentioned the names of celebrities during a recent police investigation.
On January 19, a video titled 'Hwang Ha Na, Seungri, Park Yoochun Reporter Oh Hyuk Jin Reveals His Exclusive Investigation Files' was released on the YouTube channel ZlitZlit.
In the video, investigative journalist Oh Hyuk Jin appeared to share details from his coverage into alleged criminal activities involving Hwang Ha Na, former Big Bang member Seungri, singer and actor Park Yoochun, and an alleged crime network operating in Cambodia.
Addressing Hwang Ha Na’s return to South Korea and the circumstances surrounding the investigation, Oh stated that she claimed she entered the country because of her child, but said this was not true. According to information confirmed through intelligence authorities and police, she reportedly coordinated her entry date with investigators in advance as part of a process to partially acknowledge the criminal charges.
Oh added that Hwang Ha Na repeatedly complained to reporters that she had no money, saying her parents had cut off her cards and finances, and questioned why she continued to be targeted. He suggested that these complaints were excuses rather than genuine hardship, noting that despite claiming financial difficulties, she entered the country wearing a padded jacket worth several million KRW.
Oh further suggested that Hwang Ha Na would have been aware that she was an Interpol investigation subject. He said that her decision to return to South Korea despite this indicated that there may have been something she feared more than being tracked by Interpol. He also stated that the man currently referred to as her husband is widely suspected of being involved with a criminal organization. According to accounts circulating in Cambodia, the two were attempting to run a business together, during which alleged embezzlement occurred. Oh said he understands that police are also investigating this aspect.
Regarding the drug investigation, Oh said that since returning to South Korea, Hwang Ha Na has denied using or distributing drugs, framing her statements as excuses. However, investigators are believed to have already identified specific times and locations related to drug use. He added that she is also known to have provided statements to investigative authorities naming several celebrities, including both male and female figures. Oh suggested that she may believe cooperating by revealing others’ alleged crimes could lead to a reduction in her sentence.
Meanwhile, the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office Anyang branch indicted Hwang Ha Na in July 2023. She was charged with injecting methamphetamine into two acquaintances using syringes at an apartment in Seoul’s Gangnam district and was taken into custody at the time.
