TVING’s upcoming original series 'Villains' revealed its striking main poster, signaling a high-tension crime-action drama centered on an ultra-precise counterfeit bill known as the “Supernote.”
'Villains' explores the intense psychological battles among criminals drawn into a deadly game of deception. As counterfeit bills are exchanged for real money, only to be stolen again, the story unfolds into an unpredictable contest where every character attempts to outwit the others in pursuit of power and survival.
The newly released poster features J (Yoo Ji Tae), Cha Gi Tae (Lee Bum Soo), and Han Su Hyeon (Lee Min Jung) set against ominous blood-stained splashes. Their sharp, determined gazes hint at the hidden agendas that drive them. The tagline at the top, “There is no money you can trust in this world,” heightens anticipation for a narrative set in a dangerous world where truth and lies are indistinguishable.
Yoo Ji Tae stars as J, a criminal mastermind with genius-level intellect and a flawless record of success. Known only by his code name, he orchestrated the infamous Casino Dealer Counterfeit Bill Case that continues to haunt those involved.
Lee Bum Soo takes on the role of Cha Gi Tae, a former NIS Financial Crimes Task Force team leader who lost everything because of that same case. With the Supernote resurfacing, he resumes his pursuit of J with unwavering resolve.
Lee Min Jung plays Han Su Hyeon, a top-tier currency-design artist whose life was derailed by a single devastating incident. After years of waiting for her moment of revenge, she returns to the game prepared to overturn the entire scheme.
The production team stated that the intertwined dynamics of cooperation and betrayal, along with the characters’ complex histories, will heighten suspense and elevate the show’s crime-action elements. They added that the chemistry among these veteran actors will deliver a fresh and powerful take on the genre.
'Villains' premieres on December 18.
