TWICE's Dahyun has just opened up about one of her difficult experiences during the beginning of TWICE's career.
On December 19, Dahyun made a special appearance on Hyeri's show, Hyell's Club. The two girl group legends got to know each other better, sharing a meal and discussing their impressive careers.
Host Hyeri mentioned that Dahyun is known for being the TWICE member who always tries to minimize skin exposure, often wearing modest outfits rather than revealing ones.
For the first time ever, Dahyun revealed why she chooses to cover up more, and the pressure she faced to wear revealing clothes during the early days of TWICE. Dahyun explained:
"In the early days of debut, I was shy. I was in my first or second year of high school. Since I was a high school student, showing bare skin...especially the shoulder... I was like, 'is this allowed? Is this okay?' I was only 17. I felt kind of shy."
Dahyun said that when she shot her first pictorial, it was the first time she had to wear revealing clothing showing her back. "I shot my first pictorial once, and it was the first time I showed my back. So I was shocked, I thought, 'Oh! My back?' But once I actually did it, it wasn't too bad."
Dahyun explained that it ended up being a learning experience overall: "Sometimes, showing these new sides of me, I think the fans like it. So it might be good to try new things sometimes."
Dahyun also revealed her goal of releasing a solo debut album one day: "It would be great if I could release [a solo album] one day. But for now, I'm thinking I would want all of my personal touches included. I love writing lyrics so much, but the thing is, I don't get many chances to write lyrics... So if I were to release a solo album, I would want to write all the lyrics. And it would be good to try something radical."
