Shinji, a member of the group Koyote, has directly addressed rumors surrounding her fiancé, Moon Won.
Shinji appeared on the December 12 broadcast of the MBN variety show 'Let's Go Park Golf: Fantastic Partners'.
When asked, "Did you know at first sight that you would build a family with this person?" Shinji replied, "The second time we met, I jokingly told him, 'I think I'm going to marry you.' We weren't even in a relationship then."
She continued, "I just suddenly had that feeling... And eventually, it happened. There are many things different about him compared to people from my past. If the men before were the type to 'take the money and run' (financially exploit me), this person is definitely not."
MC Kim Gura joked, "You've lost a lot in the past too, Shinji. You shouldn't let that happen again." Shinji then clarified the misunderstandings, stating, "Many people are misunderstanding. They think he approached me to exploit me like the others, but that's not true at all. He actually comes from a wealthy family."
Actor In Gyo Jin, husband of actress So Yi Hyun, chimed in, saying, "Only we know the real story." Shinji added, "Since it's his [Moon Won's] first time experiencing this kind of public scrutiny, he was very hurt—just like you were in the past, Gyo Jin." In Gyo Jin comforted her, saying, "I went through that too. But don't worry too much."
Shinji then looked at the camera and said, "I love you," expressing her deep affection for Moon Won.
Previously, in June, Shinji announced her marriage to Moon Won, who is 7 years her junior. At the time, she also revealed that he is a divorcee with a daughter, which initially drew concern from some fans. Regarding the public reaction, Shinji confessed, "It made me realize once again how much I've been loved over the past 27 years. I felt that I need to live with a greater sense of responsibility."
Shinji and Moon Won are set to hold their wedding ceremony next year.
