Actress Lee Min Jung shared her thoughts on surpassing 500,000 subscribers on YouTube, revealing that her promise to unblur husband Lee Byung Hun’s face will be carried out in a “selective blur” format.
On the 15th, Lee Min Jung addressed the milestone through her YouTube channel, saying, “When we filmed the very first episode after starting YouTube, the producers said, ‘If we reach 500,000 subscribers within the year, that would be amazing.’ Thankfully, about eight months after starting, we’ve reached 500,000.” She added, “There must have been many things I could have done better, but thank you so, so much for watching with interest.”
Lee Min Jung also clarified her stance on the 500,000-subscriber promise involving her husband Lee Byung Hun, whose face had previously been blurred in her videos.
She explained, “As the promise to unblur BH’s face involves something even more important than a public pledge, an actor’s portrait rights, I think it would be best to respect his opinion and go with a comfortable, selective blur. If there’s a moment when he wants the blur removed, we can do it then.”
Lee Byung Hun had appeared in her YouTube videos before, though his face was intentionally blurred.
Lee Min Jung concluded by wishing viewers well, saying, “I hope you have a wonderful Christmas despite the cold and welcome the new year comfortably,” and added, “I’ll continue to bring you healing, fun, and useful content through the Lee Min Jung MJ channel.”
Lee Min Jung began communicating with fans through YouTube after uploading her first video to the ‘Lee Min Jung MJ’ channel on March 30.
