Actor Jung Woo Sung has made a quiet return to the public eye nearly a year after stepping back from the spotlight.
On December 15, Jung Woo Sung attended the VIP premiere of Disney+’s original series ‘Made in Korea,’ held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. As he entered the theater, he was greeted by a large crowd of fans, with cameras flashing nonstop and voices calling out his name.

The atmosphere at the VIP premiere stood in contrast to the production press conference held earlier that day. During the morning event, Jung Woo Sung addressed questions about his personal life with caution, saying he preferred to focus on the project and the cast rather than speak at length about private matters.

However, the mood at the evening premiere told a different story. It marked Jung Woo Sung’s first close interaction with the public since last year’s controversy, and the response on site remained warm and energetic. Fans reached out to greet him as he moved through the venue, showing continued support and interest.

‘Made in Korea’ is set in South Korea during the 1970s, a time of both turmoil and rapid growth. The series follows Baek Gi Tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man chasing wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (played by Jung Woo Sung), who relentlessly pursues him. Jung Woo Sung takes on the role of a determined prosecutor driven by unwavering conviction.
At the press conference, Jung Woo Sung described his character as “a stubborn figure who pushes his mission to the end,” adding that blending fictional storytelling with real historical events was a challenging and rewarding experience as an actor.
Jung Woo Sung previously addressed public criticism at the Blue Dragon Film Awards last November, stating that he would take responsibility as a father. Since then, he has kept a low profile before gradually returning through his work.
‘Made in Korea’ consists of six episodes and will be released in stages, beginning with two episodes on December 24, followed by releases on December 31, January 7, and January 14.
