The investigation has expanded to include comedian Park Na Rae’s ex-boyfriend, who has also been reported to authorities.
According to police, on December 17, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul received a complaint alleging violations of the Personal Information Protection Act against Park Na Rae’s former boyfriend, identified only as Mr. A.
A netizen stated that they filed a complaint with the Yongsan Police Station against Mr. A, along with unidentified accomplices, accused of aiding and abetting, to identify all parties involved. The complainant requested a thorough investigation into whether personal information provided by managers was indeed submitted to police during the investigation as “materials for suspect designation.”
The controversy stems from allegations related to the high-profile theft incident at Park Na Rae’s Itaewon residence. It has been claimed that personal information belonging to managers and stylists was collected at the time and later submitted to the police.
According to the allegations, the managers believed they were providing personal details for employment contract purposes, only to later discover that the information may have been used as materials to designate suspects. This has raised growing concerns over potential violations of personal data protection laws.
As a result, the so-called “Park Na Rae case”—already mired in controversy over alleged workplace power abuse against former managers and suspicions surrounding illegal medical practices linked to the so-called “Injection Aunt”—has now escalated further with the reporting of her ex-boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Park Na Rae stepped down from the programs she had been appearing on and suspended her broadcasting activities following the series of controversies. In a video message, she stated, “There are aspects of the currently raised issues that require careful verification of the facts, and legal procedures are currently underway.”
