Actress Han Go Eun has opened up about a frightening health crisis she experienced in the past, revealing that she once suffered from sudden paralysis in her lower body.
On the 25th, a video titled “Why a U.S. traditional medicine doctor was shocked after seeing 50-year-old Han Goeun’s recent health condition” was uploaded to Han’s YouTube channel. In the video, Han met with an American practitioner of Korean medicine, Navinima, and shared her recent health concerns.
Han, who is 50, said, “I’ve been very sick lately. My inflammation levels went up, and I suffered from pyelonephritis for about two weeks.”
After checking Han’s pulse at several points, the practitioner diagnosed her condition as one caused by excessive stress. “Your body is depleted, but you’re forcing yourself to keep going. Many modern people are in this state because they don’t rest when they need to,” the doctor explained, advising Han to prioritize rest.

During the conversation, Han recalled a shocking incident from about three years ago. “It was winter, and I was peacefully playing with my dog at a resort when I suddenly heard a popping sound and felt my lower back collapse,” she said. “I couldn’t move at all—only my toes. The pain was unbearable, and my body wouldn’t respond.”
She explained that the incident occurred at a ski resort far from the city, making emergency response difficult. “I was too embarrassed to call 119 at first, but eventually I had no choice. Thankfully, the resort’s emergency medical staff carried me out on a stretcher,” she recalled. After receiving pain relief at a hospital, she underwent further treatment near her home.
Han added, “On the second day, I couldn’t move at all. On the third day, I was crawling. On the sixth day, my back miraculously straightened.” She concluded by emphasizing, “Health is something you have to protect while you still have it.”
