Former NU’EST member Baekho bid farewell to fans as he enlisted in the military on the 29th.
Baekho entered the Nonsan Army Training Center in South Chungcheong Province earlier that morning, where he will undergo basic military training before serving as an active duty soldier in the Army. No separate enlistment event was held. His agency stated, “We ask for your warm encouragement and continued love until the day he fulfills his duty to the nation and returns in good health.”
On the day of his enlistment, Baekho met fans through a broadcast. He appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s ‘Good Morning FM with Tei’ on the morning of the 29th, sharing his final greetings before enlistment. DJ Tei commented on Baekho continuing to appear on broadcasts right up until his enlistment day, saying, “Your mental strength is impressive.” Baekho responded, “I said I wanted to fill things up as much as possible before leaving, and they really let me do that. I’m honestly very grateful. I’m glad I could say goodbye one more time.”
Baekho also spoke candidly about how he felt ahead of enlistment. “I keep waking up while sleeping. It feels like I only slept halfway,” he said. “Even while sleeping, I kept thinking, ‘I should sleep more deeply.’” He added with a laugh, “I’m not worried about training. The only thing I’m worried about is that after training, I want to go home, shower, and sleep, but they won’t let me go home.” Baekho continued, “I’m really fine, but people around me keep asking if I’m okay, which made me wonder if I’m supposed to not be okay.”
More recently, Baekho appeared in the musical ‘Marie Antoinette’ and expanded his acting career through Channel A’s drama 'My Lovely Journey,’ continuing to showcase his versatility across music and acting.
