BTS’s V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has been chosen as the top visual representative of K-pop by a renowned plastic surgeon in South Korea.
Plastic surgeon Lee Kyung-mook recently hosted a "Visual Ideal Type Tournament" on the YouTube channel of his clinic,Objet Plastic Surgery.
The video featured 32 idols from top groups such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, NCT, ENHYPEN, and TXT. Members from rising rookie groups like BOYNEXTDOOR, ZEROBASEONE, RIIZE, and &TEAM were also included, along with popular soloists such as Cha Eunwoo.
The idols were paired against each other, and Dr. Lee evaluated the features that made each male idol visually appealing as he eliminated them round by round.
In the final round, he chose Taehyung as the ultimate winner. Explaining his decision, he said,
“V is someone even men find incredibly handsome. When male clients come in for consultations, the photo they bring most often is V’s. He’s the star men most want to resemble.”
Taehyung is not only regarded as a leading K-pop visual but also holds the most global titles for “the world’s most handsome man,” consistently ranked by various media outlets over the years.
Many plastic surgeons have noted that “V’s face is close to the classic golden ratio,” explaining that his “Western-style features blend harmoniously with an Eastern facial structure,” allowing him to embody ideal beauty standards in both the East and the West.
With his striking looks and unique aura, Taehyung remains highly sought-after by beauty brands. Most recently, Korean and Japanese beauty companies TIRTIR and Yunth simultaneously selected him as their model, launching huge campaigns powered by his worldwide influence.
