Sung Si Kyung bravely took the stage at the '2025 Incheon Airport Sky Festival' on November 9, just days after revealing he had suffered significant financial damages from a former manager.
While he assured fans he was "okay," he was candid about the heavy toll the "painful" betrayal has taken on him, confirming he will take a one-week break from his YouTube activities to recover.
"My Body, Mind, and Voice Have Been Badly Damaged"
Sung Si Kyung has been open about his recent struggles. "The past few months have been a continuous series of painful and unbearable days," he confessed. "I experienced a break in trust from someone I believed in, cherished, and thought of as family... While working on YouTube and my concerts, my body, mind, and even my voice have been badly damaged."
He admitted he had been "constantly asking myself if I'm even in a state to stand on stage right now."
At the festival, he directly addressed the supportive crowd, "You've all seen the articles, but I'm okay. I'm here to sing with a happy heart." However, he also hinted at his ongoing struggle, adding, "I'll do my best to sing, partly to check on my own voice."
Despite his personal challenges, Sung Si Kyung delivered a professional and heartfelt performance. He opened with his beloved hit "Every Moment of You".
He also performed his popular remake "To You" and shared a little boast with the audience. "This is the first time Seo Tai Ji (the original singer and a Korean music legend) ever allowed a remake of this song," he explained. "He told me, 'If it's Sung Si Kyung, I'll allow it.'"
Proving his determination to move forward, Sung Si Kyung ended his set with a surprise for his fans: "A new song is coming out in December. Please look forward to it!"
