A well-known TV variety producer—identified as A—who has helmed a long-running hit series has been accused of forcible molestation. According to police, B, who worked with A on a new season of the program, filed a complaint with the Seoul Mapo Police Station in August 2025 KST. B has completed an interview with investigators and submitted CCTV footage and other materials as evidence.
In the police statement, B alleges that after a team gathering, A made unwanted physical contact. When B rejected it, A allegedly made disparaging remarks and later issued a unilateral notice removing B from the project. B says they had been involved from planning and casting through production and pre-shoots, but were told to step down roughly two months before broadcast.
Attorney Lee Eun Ui, representing B, said the client suffered “psychological distress (depression, anxiety, shame, humiliation) and professional damage (career disruption, loss of opportunities, reputational harm),” adding that the sudden removal also “created workflow gaps that burdened the rest of the staff.” The lawyer noted that B initially sought an internal resolution—asking HR to investigate, determine accountability, consider discipline, and set remedies and prevention measures—but pursued external action after finding those steps insufficient.
Separately, B reported allegations of sexual harassment and workplace bullying to the company. An internal fact-finding inquiry recently informed B that only part of the forcible-molestation allegation was “acknowledged,” while bullying was “not found.”
A is reported to deny all allegations, and has contested even the portion the company said it acknowledged. Both sides have filed objections to the internal findings. Police said the criminal complaint remains under review.
