Oh My Girl’s Mimi shared her candid journey of struggle and growth on the November 2 episode of TV Chosun’s ‘Heo Young Man’s Baekban Trip.’
Calling Heo Young-man “uncle,” Mimi showed off her bright and easygoing charm. Now one of the most in-demand variety stars, she has appeared on shows like 'Earth Arcade', 'Sixth Sense', 'Heart Pairing', 'Staff Only', 'The Great Guide', and 'The Ballad of Us', even winning Best Female Rookie in Variety at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.

However, Mimi confessed that her early days weren’t easy. “I didn’t have any solo schedules — I was like a dog guarding the house,” she said. “When the group filmed a fresh, fairy-like cosmetics commercial, the others fit the concept perfectly, but I wasn’t that type. I have tan skin and a boyish style, so I stayed alone in the waiting room. I tried to look more pure and practiced in front of the mirror, but it didn’t work. I felt really empty back then.”
Still, Mimi remained positive, saying, “Those who endure survive. Life is all about holding on.”
Heo Young Man praised her talent, calling her “a true all-rounder.” Mimi shared that she’s been keeping busy with various projects: “I’ve been filming variety shows, editing videos, learning ballet and boxing, and even DJing for fun.”
When asked why she isn’t dating, the 30-year-old star laughed, “No one has approached me or shown interest. I like someone like Yang Gwan Shik from the drama ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines.’ Just imagining that kind of person makes me happy.”
