NCT’s Johnny shared his thoughts on joining the cast of the new show 'Rising Eagles'.
On November 26th KST, a production presentation for the upcoming SBS variety program 'Rising Eagles' was held at the SBS Hall on the 13th floor of the SBS Broadcasting Center in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Producer Seo Hyun Seok, head coach Seo Jang Hoon, and the full cast of players were in attendance.
Johnny, who joined the team as a basketball beginner and has since been dubbed the show’s “official hard worker,” said, “At first, I was only worried about Minho, my senior at the company, and his passion. But the coach and all the players turned out to be genuinely serious about basketball.”
He continued, “The players were intimidating. Even the younger members—who never spoke informally off the court—started speaking casually and even cursing once we stepped onto the court. It took me some time to adjust because I was scared.”
Speaking about working with Coach Seo Jang Hoon, Johnny shared, “The coach is really good at giving blunt, straightforward critiques. But when you listen to him, he’s always right. He tailors his feedback to each player’s level. He gives praise to beginners like me, but he’s much harsher when giving feedback to advanced players like Moon Suin.”
Johnny added, “As I kept trying to keep up with the others, I found myself becoming more passionate about basketball. If viewers follow our story, I think they’ll be able to feel that passion too.”
Meanwhile, Rising Eagles will premiere on November 29th at 5 PM.
