Actor Song Kang (31) completed his 18-month mandatory military service on the morning of October 1, officially being discharged as a sergeant in the South Korean Army.
Ahead of his unit, Song Kang expressed his gratitude to the fans who had come to see him. Despite his short hair and black-rimmed glasses, his clear, milky complexion stood out. Sitting in the back seat of a black vehicle, he greeted fans with a bright smile and a casual salute, delivering a special fan service to those who had waited for him for a year and a half.
Song Kang enlisted as an active-duty soldier last April and maintained a diligent and cheerful military life throughout his service. He appeared in promotional videos for the Ministry of National Defense’s Military Counseling Center and was seen enjoying leaves with BTS’s V, demonstrating a lighthearted and positive attitude during his service.
Following his discharge, Song Kang is set to make a swift return to the screen with his new drama 'For Hands.' The title refers to the piano technique of “four-hand playing,” in which two people perform on one piano. In the drama, Song Kang will portray a piano prodigy with a delicate yet sharp charm, returning to fans with a more mature and refined presence. Anticipation is already high for the new dimensions of his talent that he will showcase in this role.
