Shinhwa member Minwoo’s fiancée Lee Ah Mi opened up about unresolved issues with her ex-husband, breaking down in tears.
On the October 4 broadcast of KBS2’s variety show 'Mr. House Husband Season 2', Minwoo and his fiancée were seen visiting a lawyer for a consultation.
During the meeting, Minwoo carefully began by telling the lawyer, "(Lee Ah Mi) had legal issues with her ex-husband." He added, "She even lent him money, but hasn’t gotten it back yet." The lawyer then asked, "Are you still in contact with him?" After a brief pause, Lee A Mi quietly replied, "No, we're no longer in contact."
Though her answer was short, it carried deep emotion. Minwoo reached out and held her hand to comfort her, and Lee Ah Mi’s eyes soon filled with tears before she broke down crying. As she searched for tissues, unable to continue speaking, the studio atmosphere grew somber.
The lawyer sighed and cautiously advised, "If there’s another divorce involved, a legal settlement process would be necessary." Listening intently, Minwoo nodded with a serious expression and said sincerely, "Now I just want to build a stable family."
Earlier in July, Minwoo personally announced his marriage plans to fans through a handwritten letter. He wrote, "After going through difficult times, I was able to rediscover the meaning of family. During that time, I reconnected with someone I’ve known for a long time, and we decided to become a family."
Following the announcement, Lee Ah Mi was introduced on the show as a third-generation Korean-Japanese, currently pregnant and raising her six-year-old daughter alone as a single mother. After the broadcast, viewers expressed their support, leaving comments such as "You can feel their sincerity," "That was just like Minwoo — warm and considerate," and "Stay strong, Lee Ah Mi."
