Comedian Park Mi Sun is returning to television through 'You Quiz on the Block', but the atmosphere surrounding her comeback may be clouded by recent controversy involving co-host Jo Se Ho.
Earlier this year, Park Mi Sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and stepped away from public activities to focus on treatment and recovery. After 10 months of rest, she is set to appear on an upcoming episode of tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block', hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho. She is expected to openly share her journey and emotional reflections on the hiatus.
This marks her official return to television, but attention has also turned to Jo Se Ho, who recently found himself at the center of controversy.
On October 15th KST, Jo Se Ho attended W Korea’s “Love Your W 2025” breast cancer awareness charity event held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. While the event was intended to raise awareness for breast cancer, it drew criticism for its party-like atmosphere and glamorous celebrity dress code, which some felt undermined its original purpose.
Footage showing Jo Se Ho holding a champagne glass at the event sparked backlash, with critics saying, “Was this appropriate given the context?” and “Did he even understand the significance of the event?”
The situation gained added complexity with the news that Park Mi Sun, who publicly overcame breast cancer, would soon be appearing on You Quiz, where Jo Se Ho is a permanent MC. This led to speculation online, with some commenting, “It’ll be awkward to meet eyes on set,” and “Expect a strange tension behind the laughs.”
Others defended Jo Se Ho, arguing that blame should lie with the event organizers, not the invited celebrities:
“It’s not fair to criticize the guests. The concept and tone of the event were the responsibility of the hosts.”
Meanwhile, Park Mi Sun is scheduled to join the upcoming recording of You Quiz on the Block later this month, reuniting with Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho after nearly a year. The exact filming date has not yet been disclosed.
Her unannounced return to the show is expected to deliver a moment that blends light-hearted joy with deep emotional resonance.
