NCT’s Doyoung has made a generous donation ahead of his upcoming military enlistment.
On October 31, international relief and development NGO World Vision announced, “Doyoung contributed 100 million KRW (approx. 69,974 USD) to improve educational environments, supporting children’s dreams.”
Earlier this year, in June, Doyoung toured major cities across Asia, including Seoul, Japan, Singapore, Macau, Thailand, and Taiwan, connecting with fans worldwide. He also wrapped up his encore concerts from October 9–11.
To give back the love he received from fans, Doyoung chose to give. World Vision explained, “Doyoung wanted to turn the passion and support he felt on stage into the energy of hope for children pursuing their dreams in the classroom.”
The donation will be used in Uganda, specifically for constructing a school in Bugondo Village, Mayuge District. Around 1,000 children are expected to benefit from the improved learning environment, helping them pursue their education and dreams.
Reflecting on his donation, Doyoung said, “As I conclude my second tour, I’m grateful to give back even a little of the love I’ve received from fans around the world. I hope this new school becomes a starting point for children to grow and chase their dreams.”
Meanwhile, Doyoung is set to enlist as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army on December 8. On the same day, Jungwoo will also join the Army Band. Both are expected to complete their military service on June 7, 2027.
