Lee Seung Chul, the legendary South Korean singer, officially became a father-in-law as his eldest daughter tied the knot over the weekend.
The wedding took place at 5 PM on October 19 KST at the Aston House in Grand Walkerhill Seoul, located in Gwangjin-gu. The private ceremony was a heartfelt celebration attended by close family and friends, featuring both elegance and star-studded entertainment.
The event was divided into two parts. Broadcaster Kim Sung Joo hosted the first half of the ceremony with his signature poise, while comedian Moon Se Yoon brought laughter and warmth during the second-half party.
Musical performances made the evening especially memorable. Singers Lee Mu Jin, Muzie, and the band Jannabi took the stage to congratulate the bride and groom with special songs.
But the highlight of the night came when Lee Seung Chul himself stepped onto the stage. Accompanied by a live band, he performed a medley of five songs to celebrate his daughter’s special day. As the emotional serenade filled the air, guests responded with smiles, tears, and applause—marking a moving moment of fatherly love.
Lee Seung Chul previously shared the news of his daughter’s upcoming wedding during an episode of Channel A’s variety program “These Days Men’s Life: Groom Class.” At the time, he revealed,
“I went dress shopping with my eldest daughter. I’ll be gaining a son-in-law soon. The wedding is this October.”
His candid emotions and excitement about his daughter’s big step touched many viewers.
Lee Seung Chul first married actress Kang Moon-young in 1995, but the couple divorced two years later. In 2007, he remarried Park Hyun-jung, a businesswoman two years his senior, and they have two daughters together. His eldest daughter is from his second marriage.
As he sends his daughter off into a new chapter, Lee Seung Chul adds a new title to his legacy—not just as a musical icon, but now as a proud father-in-law.
