
TVING original series 'Dear X' (written by Choi Ja Won and Ban Ji Woon, directed by Lee Eung Bok and Park So Hyun) unveiled its main poster and trailer on October 15, showcasing Kim Yoo Jung in a chillingly dark transformation.
'Dear X' is a destructive romantic suspense drama that tells the story of Baek Ah Jin (played by Kim Yoo Jung), a woman who wears a mask to rise from hell to the highest heights, hiding her devilish nature. It also explores the fates of the “X”s she mercilessly tramples along the way.
The poster captures Baek Ah Jin’s icy gaze and enigmatic smile, radiating subtle tension. The tagline, “If your life started in hell, wouldn’t it be better to become a monster yourself?”, hints at the series’ ominous tone.
The trailer opens with an interview exposing Baek Ah Jin’s true nature, accompanied by a voiceover stating, “That girl, Baek Ah Jin, is truly ruthless.” A woman recalling her school days with Ah Jin speaks with a mix of fear and anger, reflecting the character’s dark influence.
Baek Ah Jin is unafraid to change masks or manipulate others to achieve her goals. By the trailer’s end, she declares, “I will climb to a place so high that no one can treat me carelessly,” revealing her dangerous ambitions.
The drama is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. Direction is handled by Lee Eung Bok, known for 'Sweet Home,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,' and 'Descendants of the Sun,' along with the meticulous direction of Park So Hyun.
The script is written by Choi Ja Won, winner of the Best Script Award in KBS’s one-act play contest in 2018, and Ban Ji Woon, the original webtoon creator, promising a heightened genre experience.
'Dear X' premieres exclusively on TVING on November 6.
