Actress Kang Hye Won has been cast in a new TV Tokyo drama series, 'Kimbap & Onigiri'.
Premiering next year on January 12 at 11:06 PM JST, 'Kimbap & Onigiri' is a pure, cross-cultural love story. In the series, Kang Hye Won will play the female lead Park Rin, a Korean student studying animation in Japan. Opposite her, Akaso Eiji will take on the role of Hase Taiga, working part-time at a Japanese restaurant. After meeting by chance at the restaurant where Taiga works, these two characters will gradually learn how to spot the similarities in each other's differences.
'Kimbap & Onigiri' will air every Mondays beginning on January 12, 2026, on TV Tokyo, also streaming worldwide on Netflix.
