Fresh off their industry debut, XLOV has made a remarkable start to their career. With only four songs released since their debut in January 2025, the four-member K-pop group has been making a name for themselves not only through their music and performances but also with their unique genderless concept.
XLOV, composed of members WUMUTI, HYUN, RUI, and HARU, has already caught the public's attention with their beautifully produced songs, stunning visuals, and compelling choreography. Now that they've firmly established their introduction, the group is ready to delve deeper. Moving forward, XLOV plans to showcase more of their emotions and, as WUMUTI stated in an exclusive interview with allkpop, “try to keep it fun as it is.”
Adding to their discography of “I'mma Be,” “1&Only,” “1 of LOV,” and “BIZNESS,” XLOV is slated to make their anticipated comeback with their first-ever mini-album, ‘UXLXVE,’ in November. The album will feature six new songs, a release that follows successful promotional tours in Japan, the Philippines, and Europe.
allkpop had the opportunity to sit down with the members to talk about their success and goals. Check out our exclusive interview with XLOV below!

allkpop: How has your 2025 been so far? How would you describe the first months of being an idol after your debut?
WUMUTI: First of all, as soon as we debuted, we were very busy, and we have been continuously busy trying to prove our music, our color, and our concepts to the world. And now, new fans who continue to support us are constantly joining. With the thought that we should also work tirelessly and let those fans hear more music, we are continuously moving forward with our work and performing concerts as well. We have hectic schedules but a very fun time.

allkpop: Tell us more about your recent single album, ‘I ONE,’ and how different it is from your debut ‘I’mma Be.’
HYUN: The meaning of ‘I ONE’ is, first, that I am the only one, so it’s like I’m just one person, there is no other. It means “I am one. I am a unique existence.” Then, the other meaning of ‘I ONE’ is somewhat similar to the sound of “I want,” which also contains the meaning of “I want it.” It's like there’s wordplay because all of our songs are related to “il,” which means one in Korean. The word for business in Korean is also “il.” That’s why “1 of LOV,” “I&Only,” and “BIZNESS” are all related to “il.”
WUMUTI: For our debut album, we focused a bit more on the atmosphere, and the hair and makeup that we did. And because it was our first self-introduction song, we focused on making everything about us a bit more detailed and delicate, letting people know who we are. From now on, all the challenges, all the music, and all the albums we put out won’t be about us working hard to introduce ourselves to someone. Instead, we’ll just introduce our own feelings—what we genuinely feel—and try to keep it fun as it is.

allkpop: How did you react to the success of “1&Only,” and what was it like to see the song gain so much attention?
RUI: It’s kind of, well, really amazing. And I get my phone a lot, you know. I saw it a lot on X and on Instagram as well. When I kept scrolling and it came out in the algorithm, I thought, “It’s my face! Oh my, the members!” It's kind of amazing to see things like that, and I thought, “Oh my, this song is truly doing so well these days.” Even my friends always tell me they listen to it every day: “The song ‘I&Only’ is amazing!” and I reply, “Oh, really?” I’m so grateful that they say that so much.
allkpop: What genres or concepts do you feel would be the best fit for XLOV in the future?
HARU: For me, I want to try and challenge myself with whatever vibe I have at any given moment. I just want to do what I feel at the moment. I want to do that because I want to challenge what else I’m truly capable of doing. Even for the fans, even if they can't imagine it, we want to do it because it's so much fun.

allkpop: How does it feel to be holding solo shows and embarking on a tour in the coming months?
WUMUTI: First of all, after our debut, we were only active in Korea and Japan. The Philippines was an addition, which is why we came here. And the love of Filipino EVOLs is so touching to the point where I wondered if this was real life. Is this really reality? Is this a dream? Because we came here thinking, “Will there be anyone in the Philippines who knows us?” But the entire crowd sang along to our songs together and everything, so I was really, really surprised.
We even got very emotional. We all, even with the staff members, felt overwhelmed after it ended. We even talked about how we felt like crying, saying it was too much. I just want to say that the energy of the Filipino fans is different. We are going straight to Europe after this, and I hope the European fans can have the same energy as the Philippines. It's so much fun and makes us happy.

allkpop: Do you have any rituals or routines that you do before taking the stage?
HYUN: I tend to go up after doing some vocal exercises or squats. It varies depending on the time, but if I want to generate some energy, then I do about 100 [squats] and go up. As for that level, well, I mentioned energy... If squats feel a bit overwhelming today, if it's too difficult, or if I’m a bit tired, I only do about 50 squats.
WUMUTI: Actually, I feel like I have none. I just get my hair and makeup done to my liking. If my makeup and hair are good, our style is nice, and we’ve eaten something delicious, then it's time to get up on stage.
RUI: For me, our performances are very hard, so I want to practice and perfect them. So, before going up on stage, I absolutely make sure to properly warm up my body, and then I go up.
HARU: As for me, I have a song that I listen to before going up on stage, just that one. I listen to that and go on stage.
allkpop: Lastly, please leave a message for your fans and share with us the goals you're working on for the rest of the year!
WUMUTI: We’re incredibly overwhelmed and happy because we are performing in different countries—holding performances, concerts, and meeting with our fans—to the point that we can't tell if this is reality or not. We hope that all the allkpop readers will also support XLOV and read our interview with allkpop.
At the same time, please look forward to our upcoming album and continue to support XLOV and show us love. Additionally, we want to get the number one spot on Korean music shows, so we hope all the EVOLs will vote for us for our upcoming album! Please vote for us!
