In a star-studded show of support, some of South Korea’s most prominent cultural and public figures have come together to promote the upcoming '2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.'
On October 2, the APEC 2025 Korea Committee unveiled a new promotional video on YouTube featuring global K-pop icon G-Dragon, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, football legend Park Ji Sung, acclaimed film director Park Chan Wook, world-renowned DJ Peggy Gou, celebrity chef Anh Sung Jae, and even President Lee Jae Myung himself.
The 74-second video opens with G-Dragon, dressed in a pilot’s uniform, walking into a restaurant where Park Chan Wook and Park Ji Sung are dining. Peggy Gou, sipping tea nearby, looks on as he enters.

The scene then shifts to a room filled with pilots from APEC member economies. Chef Anh Sung Jae presents a dish shaped like Cheomseongdae, Korea’s ancient astronomical observatory, with strikingly intricate plating. Jang Wonyoung appears next, dressed in a hanbok as a cashier, cheerfully quipping, “Please clear the way for 2025.”

The video concludes with President Lee Jae Myung in a lighthearted cameo as an airport ground crew member. Wearing a safety vest and holding signal batons, he guides G-Dragon’s symbolic “takeoff” toward the 'APEC summit.'
The project was produced by Dolphiners Films and directed by Shin Woo Seok, who explained: “Through symbolic visuals, we wanted to convey the message that ‘the world is gathering in Gyeongju.’ Beyond promoting the event itself, our goal was to inspire pride and excitement among the Korean people.”
Casting, Shin emphasized, was a meticulous process: “We needed figures who not only represent Korean popular culture but also enjoy strong international recognition. Despite their packed schedules, every participant made time to take part. Even President Lee Jae Myung agreed to appear—not as a figure of authority, but in a humble, approachable role, which made the message even more meaningful.”

The '2025 APEC Summit' will be held from October 31 to November 1, 2025, in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, marking one of the most high-profile international events hosted by South Korea in recent years.
