A must have dish, you can’t have a Chuseok without eating some songpyeon. A half moon-shaped rice cake filled with sweet fillings like sesame, red bean or even chestnut, it’s a sweet treat with the perfect chewy texture.
2. Jeon
The variety of jeon you can get when Chuseok time comes around surely cannot be missed. Savory pancakes that are coated in a light egg batter, it’s pan-fried goodness. Make sure though that you get your hands on all the various types from fish, zucchini, stuffed chili, to even kimchi jeon too!
3. Japchae
The famous glass noodles that are stir fried in a yummy savory soy sauce base, mixed with vegetables and beef, this is a classic dish that you don’t want to miss.
4. Galbijjim
Braised beef short ribs marinated in a sweet and savory soy sauce base, galbijjim is a beloved favorite of many Korean households during Chuseok.
5. Bossam
While it’s more commonly eaten now than before, bossam is by far one of hte dishes that are more reserved for special gatherings, in this case, Chuseok. Pork belly that is boiled for quite some time thus making it one of the most tender pieces of meat you’ll ever eat, this dish is always a popular one to have at the table.
