Fortune magazine has released its first-ever ranking of "Asia's Most Influential Women" and topping the list is superstar group BLACKPINK, highlighting their enormous global influence as pioneers in the industry and their power beyond music.
The magazine highlighted that "Hallyu," or the more well-known "Korean wave," is taking the world by storm, and BLACKPINK is at the top of the phenomenon. Since their debut in 2016, Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo have broken numerous records, including being: "The First to sell one Million, then two Million album copies in South Korea"; the "First Korean Group to top the Billboard 200 Album Chart"; the Highest-Grossing Concert Tour by a Female Artist and Asian Group"
Fortune also highlighted that BLACKPINK has become a form of cultural power that boosts South Korea's influence in Asia and around the world, breaking the language barrier with its unique and sensationally catchy style.
