Lee Mi Joo opened up about the appalling behavior of her former agency.
On the 26th, a video titled 'K-Pop Trade Secrets, It’s Time to Tell (feat. Eardrum Warning)' was posted on Lee Mi Joo's YouTube channel, 'Just Lee Mi Joo'.
On this day, Lee Mi Joo held a "Princess Party" with her '94 line' friends: Red Velvet's Seulgi, Oh My Girl's Hyojung, KARA's Youngji, and her close friend, '92-liner' MAMAMOO's Moonbyul. Lee Mi Joo joked, "This is the first time a five-member full-group broadcast is happening. I'm scared," making the staff laugh.
The members reminisced about their memories from their 2nd-generation girl group activities. Hyojung mentioned borrowing a Lovelyz stage costume, saying, "A few members couldn't zip up. I thought, 'Our seniors were this thin'."
Mi Joo picked the school uniform outfit from "Candy Jelly Love" as her favorite, but confessed, "I was a bit on the chubby side, so I could barely zip up the clothes. I was shocked by that and lost 8kg for our 'Ah-Choo' promotions."
Lee Mi Joo, who is 165cm (5'5") tall, shared the harsh reality of extreme girl group dieting, saying, "I went down to 44kg (96.8 lbs), but I returned to 46kg (101.2 lbs)." Moonbyul expressed her amazement, "If I had to do the Lovelyz or Oh My Girl concept, I would have stopped promoting."
Lee Mi Joo also revealed a harrowing story of a broadcasting accident during her activities. While promoting "Destiny," she had to dance in high heels. She exposed, "Right before going on stage, I found the sole of my shoe was peeling off. I asked the stylist to replace it, but they told me there wasn't enough time and just to go up (on stage)."
Ultimately, Lee Mi Joo's ankle twisted on stage, and she ended up falling after finishing the performance while holding back tears. She was rushed to the emergency room with a ligament tear. She couldn't hide her bitter expression as she recounted, "An agency official came and said, 'It (the fall) should've been caught on camera'."
The members were horrified, exclaiming, "People come first!" and Youngji, who often bickers with Lee Mi Joo, angrily said, "That person should go to hell." Lee Mi Joo concluded the story by saying, "After that, I only wore sneakers."
