Stray Kids' Felix is taking legal action against an anonymous social media user, who recently spread defamatory rumors of Felix mistreating staff members.
Felix has just received US court approval to expose the identity of the defamer, who earlier this year spread rumors across social media that Felix "treated staff like servants" and "acted like a prince." Felix stated that these false allegations caused him mental and physical distress, as well as resulting in damage to his reputation as an idol.
Previously, Felix had attempted to sue the defamer through Seoul Eastern District Court. However, the user's name and address could not be identified, so proceedings were stalled.
Now, Felix has just secured approval from a US court to subpoena X (formerly known as Twitter) in order to acquire the user's real identity. The case was concluded quickly, with the US court granting its approval for the subpoena in only two days. After discovering the defamer's identity, Felix will be able to continue pursuing a civil lawsuit against them through Korea's court system.
