The premiere of MBC's new sports variety show, 'The Wonder Coach', aired on September 28th, revealing an ambitious new project led by one of volleyball's greatest players and featuring a special team manager: SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan.
The show marks the first major project for the recently retired Kim Yeon Koung, a global volleyball icon widely regarded as one of the best players of all time. Her new challenge is to step into the role of a rookie director and build a brand new professional women's volleyball team from the ground up.

In the first episode, the production team revealed the project's massive goal: to create the 'Pilseung Wonderdogs' ('Pilseung' meaning 'Certain Victory'), a team that could become the foundation for a second division in Korea's professional V-League. Despite her surprise at the scale of the project, the passionate Kim Yeon Koung was shown meticulously planning everything from player tryouts to team strategy presentations.
Joining her on this journey is Seungkwan, who has been appointed as the team's official manager. Seungkwan is well-known among fans as a passionate and knowledgeable volleyball enthusiast, and he quickly proved his credentials.
Upon meeting the players, Seungkwan revealed, "I have been a fan of women's volleyball for 20 years, since the V-League was founded in 2005. I'm so serious about it that I watched every single match last year." He showcased his deep knowledge of the sport, adding, "I've done commentary before, and there isn't a single player who has been in the pro league that I don't know." To the players, he said, "You are all like celebrities to me. As your manager, I will work hard to bring great energy to this team."
'The Wonder Coach' airs every Sunday at 9:10 PM KST on MBC.
