Disney+ unveiled the main poster and official trailer for its new original series 'The Murky Stream' (written by Chun Sung Il, directed by Choo Chang Min) on the 8th, sparking intrigue about how the tangled stories of its characters will unfold against the backdrop of Joseon’s turbulent trading hub, Gyeonggang.
Set in Joseon, 'The Murky Stream' is an action drama that follows individuals who dream of overturning a corrupt world and reclaiming their humanity in the chaotic Gyeonggang district, where the kingdom’s wealth and resources converge. The project brings together director Choo Chang Min, who drew 10 million viewers with 'Masquerade,' and screenwriter Chun Sung Il, returning to the historical genre for the first time in 14 years since 'The Slave Hunters.' As Disney+’s first original historical drama, anticipation is high.
The newly released main poster highlights characters driven by different ambitions, yet bound by a common struggle. At its center is Siyul (played by Rowoon), who fights to restore order in Gyeonggang and carve out a life of dignity.
Alongside him stands Choi Eun (Shin Ye Eun), who plants her feet firmly in a harsh world without compromise, and Jeong Cheon (Park Seo Ham), a steadfast figure who charges into danger without hesitation in the name of justice. Their powerful presence sets the tone for the epic conflict ahead.
