Netflix has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming original film 'The Great Flood,' featuring Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo in a gripping survival story.
Set to premiere on December 19, the sci-fi disaster blockbuster portrays humanity's last hope as a massive flood engulfs the Earth. The film follows individuals struggling to survive in a submerged apartment complex during the planet's final day.
The teaser opens with a serene morning as AI researcher Anna (Kim Da Mi) is woken by her son Jain (Kwon Eun Sung), who eagerly invites her to go swimming. However, the calm quickly shatters as the scene shifts to the shocking reality of a world swallowed by water overnight. The trailer intensifies as Anna desperately carries Jain through the rising floodwaters invading their home, conveying a sense of extreme urgency.
The disaster visuals are striking, from colossal waves swallowing a seemingly ordinary apartment to water rising to waist level, heightening the tension and terror of the film.
Meanwhile, security officer Hee Jo (Park Hae Soo), deployed to rescue Anna and Jain, guides them to the rooftop. Anna's desperate plea, "How am I supposed to go alone?" hints at dangers beyond mere escape. Hee Jo’s cryptic line, "We need to create a new humanity. There’s no one else but you," raises questions about the crucial mission that awaits Anna.
The teaser concludes with rockets soaring into space and glimmers of golden debris, suggesting that 'The Great Flood' will expand beyond a conventional disaster narrative into imaginative sci-fi territory.
Netflix stated, "The Great Flood explores humanity, survival, and the meaning of choices in extreme circumstances. The intense performances of Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo will captivate audiences," promising a suspenseful and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
