Keyboardist Lim Jae Wook of the band The Stray has passed away.
On September 7, The Stray announced the news through their official channel, saying, “Our beloved keyboardist and precious member, Lim Jae Wook, who filled the stage with us, has left our side after a long battle with illness.”
The members shared their grief, stating, “All five of us who started this band together gathered to send him on his final journey. Now, we want to keep him deeply in our hearts.” They continued, “Even while fighting illness, he never lost his cheerfulness and became a strong support for all of us with his warm music. Please pray that he may now rest peacefully, free from pain.”
They added, “We will forever remember the times we laughed and cried together while sharing music. The melodies and love he left behind will continue to live on in our hearts and in the hearts of our fans.”
The Stray debuted in 2014 with their digital single 'Though You’re Gone' and gained recognition with songs such as “You, You” and “Moon.” The band was scheduled to hold their solo concert 'The Stray' on September 14.
