Actress Lee Si Young revealed that she participated in the Sydney Marathon, one of the world’s seven major marathons, together with her son.
On September 3, Lee Si Young posted several photos on her social media, writing, “Jung Yoon, I’m so touched and proud that I was able to run such an amazing marathon with you. I’m really thankful. It was such an honor to take part in the Sydney Marathon, one of the world’s seven major marathons. Thank you so much for inviting our family — we’ll carry these unforgettable memories forever.”

The photos showed her posing with a bright smile and a V sign at the starting line, a screen capturing her 10km course finish, and smiling with her son as they wore medals around their necks.

Lee Si Young married a non-celebrity businessman in September 2017, but in March 2025 the couple divorced after eight years of marriage. Later, she shared through social media that she was expecting her second child.
Lee Si Young explained that she had undergone IVF during her marriage to prepare for a second baby, but the embryo transfer had been delayed. As the five-year storage period for the embryo neared expiration, she made the decision to proceed with the transfer on her own.
She acknowledged, “The other party did not agree, but I intend to take full responsibility for the decision I made.” This sparked public debate about whether it constituted a “pregnancy without consent.” Her ex-husband later clarified, “It’s true I opposed having a second child, and we were already divorced. But now that the child exists, I will fulfill my responsibility as a father,” which brought the controversy to a close.
