On September 17, singer Jadu appeared on the YouTube channel 'A-Class Jang Young Ran' to discuss her current life and career.
Reflecting on her recent years, Jadu said, “I’ve been doing things here and there. I married my husband, who is a pastor, and honestly, I’ve done almost everything except appearing on TV.”
Jadu, who gained attention for her unique concept during her debut, reminisced about her first stage performance. She said, “Before my debut, the staff told me, ‘It’s too fast, you’re going too far.’ Suddenly, I felt a surge of energy and thought I should show how much I’ve got. I wasn’t nervous at all on my first stage. I was just thrilled.”
Despite becoming an instant star, Jadu candidly admitted she experienced the downsides of fame. She said, “There was a time when I would see myself on TV constantly.” However, her rising career abruptly stopped, and she revealed the reasons behind her disappearance.
Jadu explained, “It started when Kang Doo and I moved to different agencies and I was scammed. I faced various types of fraud. I was so naive about the world that I would say things like, ‘Are you struggling? How can I help?’ and even lend my card. I trusted people with my heart and spent time with them, only to realize they were struggling financially. I became disillusioned with people and, unknowingly, I was suffering from severe depression at the time.”
She continued, “I spent days using oxygen tanks and getting IV treatments at the hospital. That is when I started my faith life. I tried to sign a new contract with a company that would allow me to practice my faith comfortably. That turned out to be another scam.”
Jadu also spoke about the ongoing legal challenges she faced. She said, “Subpoenas would arrive when I least expected them. Every time I tried to start something, a subpoena would come, and I had to face the person and prove my innocence. Even when I tried to study abroad, subpoenas would follow. Despite all this, there were people who supported me through the hardest times, and that gave me the strength to not give up and ultimately overcome everything.”
