Sunny, a member of Girls' Generation, has opened up about her fresh start as a producer under A20 Entertainment, a company founded by her uncle, former SM Entertainment executive producer Lee Soo Man.

In a recent video titled 'How to Love Myself as I Am: Girls’ Generation Sunny' released on the YouTube channel playlife, Sunny reflected on her career, her group’s milestones, and her future plans.

Looking back on Girls’ Generation’s 18th anniversary, she shared: “The number 18 still doesn’t feel real. Girls’ Generation’s 18th anniversary is not something I could have achieved alone, which makes me feel only gratitude. I had my members, the people who helped create Girls’ Generation, and most importantly, the fans who never left, who waited, loved, and cared for us. I think that’s why this moment feels like such a blessing.”

She went on to express her affection for the group: “With the 20th anniversary coming up, I’m happy that we can talk about what would make our fans happiest. I love that we’ve reached a point where we can share conversations about both the present and the future together.”

Recently, Sunny announced her new role as a producer at A20 Entertainment. Addressing concerns about her career shift, she reassured fans: “When fans hear that I’m taking on something new, they might worry or feel uneasy, wondering if they won’t be able to see ‘Girls’ Generation’s Sunny’ anymore. But this new step is not an entirely different path, it’s a natural extension of what I’ve been doing. In fact, I think it may give people more chances to see me as both Sunny of Girls’ Generation and as myself. That’s why I want to tell fans not to be anxious.”

Sunny also explained how her journey led her here: “I never dreamed of becoming a producer from the very beginning. I started studying psychology to better love and protect myself, to understand why I always felt anxious, and to take care of myself more. While I was studying, I was given a wonderful opportunity to work together with the company, and that’s how this path began.”

With her new role at A20 Entertainment, Sunny is set to expand her career beyond the stage while still cherishing her identity as a member of Girls’ Generation.
