Singer Lim Young Woong has set another meaningful milestone in the ‘Donation King’ event with the help of his fans.
According to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, prize money of 2 million won (approximately 1,480 USD) from the July round of the “Good Star” Donation King contest — earned through the participation of Lim Young Woong’s fans — has been donated in his name. The funds will be used as emergency medical support for families of children with cancer or leukemia who are struggling with sudden medical expenses.
With this, the total amount donated to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation under Lim Young Woong’s name has reached 107.98 million won (approximately 80,000 USD). Past donations have gone toward surgery costs, chemotherapy, and transplant expenses for young cancer patients, and this latest contribution is expected to provide practical help to families under heavy financial strain.
This is far from Lim Young Woong’s first act of generosity. He has long maintained a steady tradition of giving alongside his fans, establishing himself as an artist who puts “social responsibility” into action.
Hong Seung Yoon, Executive Director of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, said, “Mr. Lim’s donations are not one-time gestures but a consistent commitment to sharing. They bring great hope to families burdened by treatment costs. We are always grateful for his warmhearted support.”
Meanwhile, Lim Young Woong is set to release his second full-length album “IM HERO 2” on August 29. Ahead of the album’s release, he has been rolling out various content to heighten anticipation among fans.
