Singer Kim Jong Kook opened up with an honest story about his fiancée.
On the SBS variety program 'Running Man' aired on August 31, Kim Jong Kook surprised everyone by announcing his marriage news and chatting with the cast members about it.
When Ji Ye Eun admitted that she doesn’t enjoy exercising but still felt drawn to Jang Dong Yoon who does, HaHa turned to Kim Jong Kook and asked, "Does your wife-to-be like working out?" Kim Jong Kook replied, "No, she's completely different from me. But as long as she doesn't stop me, it's fine," revealing that his fiancée has little interest in exercise unlike him.
Throughout the broadcast, HaHa kept the spotlight on Kim Jong Kook's marriage news. He joked, "I was preparing to introduce a partner for Jong Kook hyung. I guess now I should do that for (Sung) Si Kyung instead," refusing to move on from the wedding talk and making everyone laugh.
When Ji Ye Eun asked Haha, "You didn’t even know he had a girlfriend?" HaHa admitted, "I didn’t even know he had a girlfriend," adding to the surprise. Yoo Jae Suk also noted that Kim Jong Kook announced his marriage through a handwritten letter on his fan café, joking, "Do you think you're an idol?" which drew laughter.
HaHa then playfully listed female celebrities once linked to Kim Jong Kook in broadcast love-lines, saying, "So your wife isn’t Chaeyeon noona, nor Park Se Ri noona..." sending the members into laughter.
Later, Yoo Jae Suk revealed, "This is the first time I've ever been asked to host a wedding ceremony this suddenly," while HaHa shared that he even had to rearrange his overseas schedule for Kim Jong Kook's big day. Despite being close friends, the cast admitted they had no idea he even had a girlfriend, let alone marriage plans.
Yoo Jae Suk recalled, "Now that I think about it, I remember things one by one. Didn’t Jong Kook buy a lot of keyrings? At some point, he started liking cute things. When we went to Ye Eun's house, he kept pointing out the wallpaper and everything..." He reflected that Kim Jong Kook’s growing interest in cute items and stylish interiors had already been signs of marriage.
