KBS2’s popular music talk show 'The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' is set to conclude its current season, with actor Park Bo Gum stepping down as host.
According to industry sources on July 8, the final filming will take place later this month, and the last episode is scheduled to air on August 1. Park will be leaving the program due to scheduling conflicts, and his successor has not yet been decided.
Park Bo Gum made history earlier this year as the first actor to host a season of 'The Seasons,' taking on the role beginning March 14. 'The The Seasons' series launched in 2023 with 'The The Seasons - Jay Park’s Drive' and has since featured a rotating lineup of musical hosts, including Choi Jung Hoon, Akdong Musician (AKMU), Lee Hyori, Zico, and Lee Young Ji. Each season has been led by a different artist who engaged in musical discussions and performances with guest musicians.
Despite not being a professional singer, Park Bo Gum received praise for his smooth hosting style and authentic passion for music. Since debuting in the 2011 film 'Blind,' Park has consistently shown interest in music. He co-hosted 'Music Bank' in 2015 and performed the OST “My Dearest” for the 2016 hit drama 'Love in the Moonlight,' which significantly boosted his career. In 2018, he released a single that was a remake of Jukjae’s “Let’s Go See the Stars,” and he later released albums in Japan, including "Bloomin" and "Blue Bird."
As part of 'The Seasons' format, each host leads a uniquely titled season. Park reportedly played an active role in the production, including participating in guest discussions and artist invitations, reflecting his strong commitment to the show.
In addition to his hosting duties, Park Bo Gum is actively meeting audiences through various acting projects. He recently appeared in the Netflix original series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' and is currently starring in JTBC’s weekend drama 'Good Boy.' This marks his first major venture into the action and crime genres, where he has drawn attention for his dynamic performances and intense action scenes.
'The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' airs every Friday at 11:20 p.m. KST on KBS2.
