
New SBS Fri-Sat drama 'The Winning Try' is off to a solid start after its first airing on July 25 KST.
According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of 'The Winning Try' starring Yoon Kye Sang, Kim Yo Han, and more recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 4.1%, with its highest viewership rating peaking at 4.8%. The drama was the TV program with the highest rating during its time slot, as well as the highest rated TV mini series among all currently airing Fri-Sat dramas.
A refreshing sports drama combining both youth and comedy, 'The Winning Try' tells the story of a retired professional rugby player who returns to his alma mater high school to coach its terrible rugby team. Actor Yoon Kye Sang takes on the role of the unhinged new coach of Hangyang Physical Education High School, Joo Ga Ram, joined by Kim Yo Han as the captain of the Hanyang rubgy team, Yoon Sung Joon. Actress Lim Se Mi joins the crew as Ga Ram's ex-girlfriend, Bae Yi Ji.
In particular, after the drama's premiere on July 25 KST, many viewers responded positively to its light and cheerful mood, calling it an "not too heavy, yet entertaining summer watch".
The second episode of 'The Winning Try' airs on July 26 at 9:50 PM KST.
