Actor Lee Soo Hyuk has shared his excitement after winning an award at the prestigious 'Cannes International Series Festival.' This marks a major highlight in his 18-year acting career.
On July 7, a press screening was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul for the upcoming Wavve original drama 'S-Line.' Cast members Lee Soo Hyuk, Lee Da Hee, Arin, Lee Eun Saem, and director Ahn Joo Young attended the event to present their new fantasy thriller.
'S-Line' tells the story of a mysterious red line, called the 'S-Line,' that connects people who have had a sexual relationship. As these lines begin to appear, long-hidden secrets and forbidden desires are revealed, creating a tense and provocative plot.
Lee Soo Hyuk plays Ji Wook, a detective pursuing the truth behind the strange phenomenon. Lee Da Hee takes on the role of Kyu Jin, a high school teacher who hides an eerie aura behind her warm smile. Arin, a member of Oh My Girl, plays Hyun Heup, a girl who has been able to see the 'S-Lines' since birth. Lee Eun Saem portrays Sun Ah, Ji Wook’s niece and Hyun Heup’s classmate.
The series received international attention when it won the 'Best Music Award' in the long-form competition at the '8th Cannes International Series Festival' in April. The show was met with strong praise from critics.
When asked about his experience at the festival, Lee Soo Hyuk said, "One night, the director texted me saying they were going to 'Cannes.' I thought it was for another project, but then they said I had to go too. Even when I got on the plane, it didn’t feel real. I saw so many international actors, directors, and industry professionals, and I still couldn’t believe it."
He added, "I wasn’t ready for such a big event. But after returning, I felt a deeper love for the project and a strong desire to share it with the audience as soon as possible. Winning the award made me so happy. It still doesn’t feel real."
The Wavve original drama 'S-Line' will release in three batches of two episodes each on July 11, July 18, and July 25.
