Korean netizens are expressing outrage and disgust after a producer confirmed the use of porn sounds in KATSEYE's "Gnarly."
The international girl group's single "Gnarly," released back in April, has sparked intense backlash in Korea after it was revealed that the track contains a sound sample taken directly from a pornographic video.
For months, fans had speculated about a brief moaning sound in the song, noticing that it sounded unusually sensual. Recently, producer Pink Slip, who worked on the track, confirmed in a social media video that the sound was indeed sampled from an adult film. He revealed the original audio in his music mixer, which quickly spread across Korean online communities.
This latest revelation has come as a shock to many, especially because KAYSEYE includes an underage member. Korean netizens gathered in a popular online community to express disgust and criticize both HYBE and the producer for including the sound in a girl group's track.
What netizens found more baffling is the producer's attitude when another music producer commented in disbelief, saying, "What? Oh my gosh, bro. No, you didn't put that in there." Pink Slip simply replied, "Wouldn't be a hit without it." Many are calling this "disgusting" and "predatory," and express that they will no longer listen to the song.
